CPR & First Aid Classes

Someday… You may need to save a life.

Learn lifesaving CPR, AED, and First Aid skills through Orcas Island Fire & Rescue.
We provide the following American Heart Association classes:
  • Adult and Child CPR, AED, Infant CPR, and First Aid.
  • Advanced courses include BLS HCP (Healthcare provider CPR), ACLS, and PALS.

Courses are regularly scheduled at the Eastsound Fire Station and are taught by certified instructors. AHA Certifications are good for two years and satisfy OSHA, WISHA, and L&I regulations. Check our Calendar for upcoming classes.

Adult and Child, CPR and AED (no First Aid)

Teaches the student to recognize potential life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Optional modules in Child CPR, AED, and Infant CPR include child and infant choking.

  • Where: Eastsound Fire Station, 45 Lavender Lane.
  • Details: A minimum of 3 students is required to hold a class.
  • Cost: Free (For CPR/AED).

Adult and Child, CPR and AED (including First Aid)

This course is for emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, individuals requiring certification, and the general public. First Aid Training and Certification is available for anyone who requires First Aid certification or anyone interested in learning first aid.

  • Teaches first aid basics, including scene safety, finding the problem, calling for help, and more.
  • Medical emergencies, including actions for choking, breathing problems, shock, and more.
  • Injury emergencies include actions for bleeding, broken bones, burns, and more.
  • Environmental emergencies, including actions for bites and stings and temperature-related and poison emergencies.

CPR Description: Ability to recognize potential life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Optional modules in Child CPR, Infant CPR, and AED use, including child and infant choking.

Private Classes

Private Classes are available for Groups, Clubs, and Organizations. Please contact us to schedule.

Additional Classes

Basic life support (BLS HCP) for healthcare providers, ACLS, PALS, and other private courses are available. Please contact us for more information.
