Class Details
Where: Eastsound Fire Station, 45 Lavender Lane
Certification: American Heart Association (valid for 2 years)
Group Classes: Regular public classes at the fire station
Private Classes: Available for businesses, organizations, and groups
Requirements: Minimum 3 students for group classes

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains individuals with little or no medical training to provide emergency care, including first aid for injuries and illnesses, and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) until professional help arrives. The course covers skills for medical and environmental emergencies and is suitable for meeting job requirements or for personal preparedness. It is a video-based, instructor-led course, and upon successful completion, students receive a 2-year course completion card.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification class provides healthcare professionals and other personnel with essential skills to respond to life-threatening emergencies like cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and obstructed airways. It involves learning high-quality CPR AED (automatic external defibrillator) use for adults, children, and infants, along with managing choking incidents. This certification is distinct from basic First Aid/CPR/AED courses, which are for the general public.
