Responding to Emergencies
More severe road conditions are forecast through the New Year. Please stay vigilant. The call no one wants to hear is a response to our own members and/or apparatus off the road or worse.
Remember – when driving on snow or ice, drive like you have NO BRAKE PEDAL. Slow and stop you vehicle with the transmission, low speeds and distance. Braking in a slide takes away all wheel control.
On the dash of each apparatus is the quote we need to respond by: No duty is so important and no call so urgent that we cannot proceed with caution and arrive safely.
Availability
With the current weather and holiday approaching, we are trying to keep track of who is available when and where. If you know you can or cannot respond between now and Jan. 2, please let the duty officer know via email or just call into the station.
Smurf Suits
If you have an extra blue EMS jumpsuit, or are not using the one you have, please return it to headquarters. We have several new responders who could benefit from that warm PPE.
